Meet the PK team!

Matt & Betsy

Matt

Meet Matt, a lifelong pet lover who has transitioned from being a devoted "Dog Dad" to proudly embracing his role as a "Cat Dad." With a heart for animals, Matt welcomed Miko into his home to be a friend for Laura's chow, Leona, and has since added two more cats to his family. Balancing his career as a financial analyst, he dedicates his spare time to helping Laura her bookings and loves cozy nights in with his furry kittens: Miko, Bean and Nova. Matt has become quite the pet health guru, thanks to his early experiences with Tia, his adorable chocolate lab who had more allergies than a sneezy human, and Leona, who needed daily meds and a little extra help to get around. As a qualified first aider with a clean DBS, he's on a mission to keep his furry friends in tip-top shape. His fascination with animal behaviour and psychology has him diving into the world of separation anxiety and reactivity—because wouldn’t want to unravel the mysteries of their pets' quirky habits?

Laura & Leo

Laura C

Meet Laura, a self-proclaimed cat lady who once had an entire feline army of six cats and two dogs in her home! Her beloved chow, Leona, had a knack for drama with her delicate health, which turned Laura into a full-time animal caregiver instead of just a part-time pet parent. Inspired by their antics, Laura packed her bags and left sunny Spain to chase her true calling. While juggling a managerial role, she dove into a Level 3 in Canine Hydrotherapy—because why not add some splashes to her career? Now, as she studies for a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Nursing, she's dreaming big: a rehabilitation centre for animals where getting top-notch care doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Who knew that following Leona's lead would take her from hospitality to becoming a superpawrent! After Leona's passing, Laura decided it was time to swap her hospitality apron for veterinary scrubs, and plunged into the delightful world of the furry companions in the North West. Whilst developing in the nursing program, Laura created the Pawsome Kingdoms project—because who wouldn’t a future as fabulous as her cats? Currently, Laura is busy making sure the PK team is confident with the Animal Welfare legislation like they know their favourite treats, as well the Health and Safety law. As well as a qualified first aider and hydrotherapist (yes, yes, she can spoil your pets!), Laura also has a clean DBS and is a proud mom to Miko, Beanie, and Nova.

Cam & Storm

CAM

Meet Cam, the animal whisperer who’s been in sync with his furry friends since he was a kid, using a toy mouse to engage his cats in an epic game of chase! His adventure began with as a young volunteer and he quickly developed to Doggy Day Care manager—because who wouldn't want to be the fearless leader of a bunch of playful pups? Cam’s got the inside scoop on all the quirks of different breeds and can handle dogs of every shape and size like a pro! Cam is currently studying his Level 3 in Zoology, whilst dreaming big—aiming to become a multi-species carer and create the ultimate Pet Hotel, where every pet can live like royalty. Talk about a pawsitively exciting future! He is also a proud dad to his doggo Andy, a sweet and gorgeous rescue that can't live without his hooman.

Laura D

Meet Laura, a former Scientific Officer and researcher, who's developed an extensive skill-set regarding the care and welfare of all animals she had under her care for almost 10 years, giving her the opportunity of understanding facial expressions, behaviour and stereotypies. Part of her professional development included complex surgical techniques and advanced imaging techniques of the animals that required this type of care, committed to improving their welfare. Laura has been a well-appreciated member of the Institute's Animal Welfare Ethical Review Board (AWERB), leading assessments, training sessions and working on initiatives that would prioritise the well-being and welfare of animals under the relevant UK legislation. On her spare time, Laura loves driving to the countryside of Manchester with her partner and their beloved Shiba Inu; Mochi, meeting her friends for coffee catch-ups, spending time in the company of her guinea pigs, and also volunteering for Shout, a Crisis Support platform that provides assistance to everyone needing mental health support during difficult times. Laura will be covering mainly South Manchester, but she is eager to meeting you all and does not mind having to drive a bit further! From February 15th, once the Advance First Aid course has been completed, she will start taking bookings in order to fill up her 2025 calendar. In the meantime, she is working her notice at her old workplace whilst shadowing Matt, Cam and myself on the upcoming Meet and Greets. We can't wait for you to meet her. You are going to love her!

HAPPY PAWRENTS

Caroline (Teddy's Mum)

"Our Teddy had the best time with Cam taking him for walks during our holiday last week. Cam's communication with us is top notch - we know when he's arrived, what he's got up to with Teddy, where they've been and all accompanied with lots of lovely photos. Teddy got used to Cam really quickly and they're best buddies now. Cam was very attentive to Teddy's needs, personality and quirks. I would definitely recommend Cam and everyone at Pawsome Kingdoms to look after your pet with expertise and lots and lots of love. They are also very professional and have all the legal stuff and loads of appropriate training to provide a very solid foundation for their amazing pet care business. You feel confident from the initial meeting your pet appointment and throughout the whole process that they have your pet at the heart of everything they do."

HAPPY PAWRENTS

Sara (Millie's Mum)

"Matt and Laura are absolutely amazing cat sitters! They took exceptional care of our beloved Millie while we were away, and we couldn’t be happier with their service. Matt, in particular, showed so much love and care for Millie—he was incredibly attentive and gentle with her, treating her like the princess she is. It was clear from the start that they truly adore animals and are dedicated to making sure pets feel safe and loved. We felt completely at ease knowing Millie was in such capable hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to call Matt again for future trips. Highly, highly recommend them!"

HAPPY PAWRENTS

Joanne (Tia's Mum)

"I 100% recommend Pawsome kingdoms. My girl, Tia, has been attacked by other dogs a few times so she is extremely nervous about going out with anyone other than me and my husband. Laura was so patient with her and understood her needs. Laura showered Tia with love, cuddles and attention and very quickly gained her trust. After just a couple of visits Tia went out on a short walk

The professionalism from Laura is brilliant and I am completely confident in her and it’s amazing that Tia has taken to her so quickly. Animals are the best judge of character, in my opinion, and Tia has certainly given the paws up"
